Im synthesizing the backrooms and psychological horror (because i hate the regular backrooms) so my whole idea was to bring out the feeling of nostalgia and being trapped in the present
Art
This art piece was made with acrylic although i wanted to do it with oil, butt oil paint it evil and i hate it and it hates me. But the idea was to draw the halls from my short story. And then i didn't have any yellow paint so i was reduced to black and white! but these are the rooms that the character in the story is trapped in. I tried to make them look repetitive and damp and i think it worked. When i get a chance ill get a picture

History
I was once again looking for a sense of nostalgia and that trapped feeling for this, and what historical moment did we survive thats both nostalgic and trapped us? Covid!! So I went to look at old covid safety pamphlets. I connected the liminal feeling of being stuck in our homes that a lot of people talk about and turned it into a pamphlet that one would've seen during this time in order to remind people of that time. I was combining covid's nostalgia and the trapped feeling we all got. thats my attempt at connecting my main topic to history based off my meeting.

English
For english i wrote a short story combining the nostalgia and sense of being trapped as well as the main topic of liminal spaces and psychological horror. The cool metaphorical stuff can be found inside the actual doc.

A hallway, the most neglected room of a house. You’ll never remember what a hallway looks like, nothing revolutionary has happened in a hallway, nothing ever happens in a hallway. We use them to rush from one place to another, they are simply for transition and then left in the dark. Poor hallways.
